Jeff Johnson

Jeff began diving in the early 60's in his parents pool in Southern California. Moving to the east coast Chesapeake area Jeff began diving in the Chesapeake and tributaries. In 1987 Jeff's wife brought home a flyer and told him he should go get certified. The instructor he initially trained with introduced him to cave diving. Cave diving is where he was introduced to nitrox, trimix and rebreathers.

Teaching experience: as a Dive master and Assistant Instructor, Jeff assisted hundreds of classes under the tutelage of a master scuba diver trainer for 8+ years.

Began teaching technical courses in 1997 and CCR in 2003

Dives between 300 - 400 fw

Technical dive instructor 10+ years

Closed Circuit Rebreather instructor 5+ years

First IANTD Optima Instructor under the tutelage of Tom Mount, 2004

1st IANTD Hammerhead eCCR instructor in US

4th Titan CCR Instructor worldwide January 2007

CCR cave instructor: One of first 5 IANTD ccr cave instructors in US

Expedition trimix Instructor: one of first 4 in US

Team experience: Member US Deep Cave Team 1998 - '99.

Rebreather, cave and trimix experience: Jeff completed his closed circuit rebreather course in 2000 and
holds ratings on 7 different rebreathers to date

Dives: In a single year Jeff makes as many as 100 personal, non-training dives. He makes as many as 90
cave dives in a year and dive shipwrecks in the ocean and Chesapeake Bay. Jeff dives as deep as 180 fsw
on air and heliox or trimix to depths of 300ft +. His dives are in the range of 2 - 4 hours bottom time.

New technology and testing experience: privileged to receive and test dived the first run of HammerHead
electronics. Jeff also test dived the Dive Rite Optima for a year prior to its release.

Emergency Medical / Fire Fighting: Emergency medical technician and fire fighter for many years running.
Works in the motion picture industry administering first aid and emergency medical aid to the cast and crew.
