Mark “Sharky”
Alexander started diving 21 years ago as a Public Safety diver for the
Springfield/ Sangamon County ESDA (Emergency Services Disaster Agency)
Rescue Squad in Illinois. Then took up ocean diving and
became a
Divemaster then proceeded on to become a PADI Master Instructor, IANDT
Instructor, TDI Inspiration Classic/Vision CCR Instructor, Full Time
Paramedic, EMT-Instructor, Paramedic-Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life
Support-Instructor, Pediatric Advanced Life Support-Instructor,
Advanced Pre-Hospital Life Support-Instructor, Advanced Diver Medical
Technician, Hyperbaric Chamber Technician.
Sharky in May 2007 started his company: Sharky’s Underwater
Expeditions, LLC. His company focuses on doing more advanced
travel, exploration, specialized training, Closed Circuit Rebreather
Training, medical seminars on remote medical treatment, and technical
and creative help of various diving series on Television with KPI
Productions in New York.
USCG Licensed 50 Ton Master Captain, near coastal with a licensed
towing endorsement.
Sharky has had then opportunity to do television work with Capt. Dan
Crowell, former owner of the legendary dive boat the
“Seeker”.
Seen on the Military Channel “Quest for Sunken Warships” Episodes
“Torpedo Alley” & “Truk Lagoon”. Also, History
Channels
series “Weird US” Episodes “Weird Underworld”. Sharky has
also
done some photo work for various magazines and news articles.
Most recently was involved in the search for Gertrude “Tommy”
Tompkins-Silver and her missing P-51D Mustang aircraft that came up
missing Oct. 1944 off coast of Los Angeles, CA. His job on
the
expedition was Dive Medical Officer and Deep water Diver.
